Interested in a medical or nursing career? We have an excellent opportunity for you to learn the basics of person-centered-care. We will be holding a SD Board of Nursing approved training that will prepare you to become a state certified nurse aide. We will be holding 10 four hour classroom sessions from 4-8 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will also have the opportunity to complete 35 hours of hands on experience required for certification. The next course begins on February 1, 2010 at the United Retirement Center in Brookings. Cost is $450 which includes workbooks and supplies. This fee does not include the individual testing fee. Class size will be limited to eight participants. Please contact instructor Cathleen Everson RN, BSN at 692-5351 to sign up.

  • Physical Therapy Assistant - The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides selected physical therapy interventions only under the supervision and direction of the physical therapist. Treats residents with functional impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes as specified by the treatment plan established by the physical therapist. Will participate in interdisciplinary coordination of care and work closely with employee health.

    Full time: Hours may vary and may include some weekends.

    Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant associate degree program.

  • Teacher Assistant

    • Full Time
    • Duties would include but not limited to providing assistance and support to the classroom teacher in program implementation and the day-to-day care and supervision of children.
    • Must relate well to children, their families, and elders.
    • One year of experience working with infants or young children preferred.
