GERIATRIC RESPITE CARE exists to provide relief to the caregiver, quality substitute care for the elderly, and to promote the well-being of the caregiver. The United Retirement Center Avera Respite Program is designed to provide temporary residential and nursing care to persons of the community for one to thirty days. The Respite Program will gives short-term relief to persons for elderly individuals living with them at home by providing for temporary nursing care for up to thirty days. All services of URC Avera are available to the respite resident. The individual must be admitted on a physician's order, and may not exceed the level of care URC Avera is licensed to provide.
